This was a great win.
After four months out, we were back with a baptism of fire, scheduled to play Spartans who were on a 9 game winning streak and level on points with us at second place.
Tita was made Captain and had wise words – stay positive throughout. Even if we go a few goals down, keep playing and keep being positive to each other.
And like a prophet, so Tita’s words were echoing through us all when we were two-nil down after 15 mins! Despite starting well we conceded from a great header and a worldie strike from 40 yards. Yet our heads didn’t drop – we kept going and kept playing and soon got the score back to 2-2. Krisna’s first goal come from a great cross field ball which he ran onto, and then shot across goal for the keeper to parry in.
Just before half time we leveled – a great through ball from Benji put Krisna clear for him to slot home.
We largely controlled the second half, with Ricky rarely tested. Crommy came on and started dictating play.
We went 3-2 up through a great goal. Crommy danced through the Spartans midfield and layed it off to Danny who side footed it from outside the box right into the top corner. We still had twenty minutes to play and Spartans tried to equalize – we defended well and soon got our 4th, which was a beauty. After some good passing starting with Danny – Awal was released down the wing who chipped it into the box for Krisna to volley into the roof of the net.
Spartans scored a consolation through a free kick, but we held out for a grand win.
