With many people away we struggled to get a team together for this game, but with the news trickling in that Spartans had lost, we knew going into this game that we had won the league. Late confirmation from super RB Darius, meant we had a strong team together.
Tita’s team talk before the game focussed on us not relaxing as we had won the league, and to concentrate on winning this game.
We started the game pretty slowly, fashioning chances but quite loose in our play. Barry and Sean both had chances on goal, as didn’t Nick Bradley when he came on, spurning two great chances.
We soon scored however after good work from Awal lead to a cross across the box for Nick to tap in.
The second half we brought on Pius, Hiro, Jimmy and Ryan and we were looking very solid. Tropics did not have a single shot on goal, and we fashioned a few chances but just could not convert.
At the end of the game we were presented the trophy. Great effort everyone over a tough season – 21 games unbeaten is some achievement.
MOM: Tita could be up there for beasting at CB despite not being able to header the ball! This week we give to MOM’s though – Steve Lang for the first half, bossing it at CM and Hiro in second half for also bossing it at CM.
