DBFC were struggling for numbers this week mainly because of the very early kick-off time and the squad only came together on Friday when Tita, Awal, Darius and Wai confirmed “yes” to confirm a healthy number of 14 players. Morse got the team warmed up with his usual routine and Gaffer Gazza highlighted the need for fast passing of the ball on the small HV pitch 2, as well as being up for the physical challenges Irish would bring to the game.
Star player Tita was busy on the phone trying to sort his car park payments, so it was David and Morse together in usual centre back position and they were solid as DBFC threatened the Irish goal on many occasions.
DBFC started well and played the ball around, fashioning a number of chances, but as usual struggled to get space on the smaller pitch. Both Amit and Benji were able to fashion chances, whilst leaving Ricky with only one save to make from ex-DBFCp layer Jamie.
The second half panned out in similar fashion and seeing even more of the ball, with several guilty of miss good half chances. The deadlock wasn’t to be broken and disappointingly, 0-0 it ended.
