Report by Makito

DBFC showed their superiority from the start. The attacking players chased the ball with intensity and hard work, and the Japanese side struggled to cope with our pressing. Krisna struck the first goal in the 5 minute with a quick combination with Makito who won back the ball on the opponent side. Soon after Crommy’s left corner to the far side found Tita who headed into the side of the net. 2-0. DBFC further added two more goals from the dominating right side led by Darius, Kieran and Amit. A drilled cross by Darius resulted in an own goal and another cross to the far post was well headed in by Crommy, making it to 4-0 in the first 20 minutes. In the 30 minute a penalty was given to DBFC following a handball and Crommy took it with calm precision and DBFC extended its lead to 5-0 in the first half.

With several new players coming onto the pitch, DBFC struggled to find their rhythm and pace in the second half. J-Leaguers took advantage of our slow start to the second half and revived a bit creating several chances but these were nowhere close to the goal thanks to the solid defence overseen by Tita. However, after about 15 minutes DBFC settled and started picking up its pace to reinstate their control. It was a combination of Benji and Danny in centre mid that sent Nick off down the left side to rifle in a cross to the far post for Darius to knock in, a great team goal to put DBFC 6-0 up and 20 minutes left. The new players were showing their stuff and at about 70 minutes second half right back Michel put in a superb low cross curling round the back of the J-Leaguers’ defence for Benji to burst through and force the ball into the net off his hip and make it 7-0. The last goal came right before the end of the match when Leo continued his dribbling down the left and in to the J-Leaguer 18 yard box. He looked up to cut back a cross but a defender blocked and the ball broke back to Leo’s continued run. He broke through another tackle to find himself in front of goal when he fired in for a rare goal with his right foot. The final score was 8-0.

MOM: every player on the team deserves a shout for this honour because all put in 80 minutes of none-stop hard work. Nevertheless, the boss’s shout goes to Darius for a great wingers display in being so effective down the right sending in cross after cross. He also followed through with a promise to keep focused on his football for the complete match and not get side tracked into arguments with the ref and opposition players.

DOD: Morse for deciding an afternoon on the piss (he was a guest at a brunch party) was a better option than the late kick off match. To be fair, he saw we had plenty of cover and would be coming anyway to support the team. However, it shows he has a backbone like a jelly fish when temptation is put in his path. We all know there is only one Morse and he is DBFC through and through!!
