Thanks to a last minute withdrawal, we only managed to turn up with 10 players and USRC kindly loaned a GK to us to make up the numbers. Fortunately this had been billed as a social game and we were just about able to get through the game without subs despite the fact that Ricky and Hymsey were both carrying injuries. For the first 20 minutes of the game we had almost complete control but went behind after we gave up possession just in front of the back 4 and gave their player a 1 on 1 against our GK. Against the run of play we went further behind, the first from a through ball catching our GK too far back on his line and then another from an unforced error. Just before the second 25 minute break, Ricky pulled one back with an excellent right foot shot from the edge of the area and we knew we were back in the game. Yin then scored twice in quick succession in the final third of the game. It was heading for a draw when Nik picked up possession well outside USRC’s penalty area and hit a belter that seemed to go straight through the GK. We shouldn’t have got into the situation where we had to come from behind but we ended up with a deserved win.
