DBFC to play in the 2018 HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens.
DBFC have again been invited to participate in this year’s HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens, Masters Section, and are putting together a strong team made up of regular DBFC players and a number of invited ex-pro players, made possible by the sponsorship of Tanner De Witt, 606 and Deefort Sports. We were successful last year by making the Plate final and narrowly losing to PlayonPROS (a team of ex English Premier League Players, a number of which played for their Country) and this year our aim is to go at least one better by making the last four in the Cup competition.
This is a high quality international soccer weekend with top English Premier League sides sending over teams for the open competition, which are generally made up from their youth sections and this gives the spectators a chance to identify the football stars of coming years. Everyone associated with DBFC or Residents of DB should get down to Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley to fly the DB flag and support the lads.
We need to mention that our Football kits this year will all carry a tribute (above the DBFC badge, close to our hearts) to the late Robin Armstrong. Robin was one of the founding fathers of DBFC and instrumental in making DBFC a regular at the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens. The DBFC Soccer Sevens Team was Robin’s baby and he loved it!
