With crazy hot weather, courtesy of Matt Zoeller’s requested 1pm Kick off, we knew we needed a big squad. We were lucky to get one, a quality 11 with a quality bench.
Whilst we hid in the shade of the changing rooms until the last possible moment, Krauts had been warming up for 45 minutes which was very impressive.
We started the game in a somewhat disjointed fashion, passing around our own half a lot, not under much pressure, but not going forward at all – game was really stale. We started to come into it a little bit and soon got our first goal courtesy of Zolcrom – a nice through ball from Crommy finished off by Zoeller. We got the second and third goals soon after courtesy of a tidy Crommy finish from the edge of the boss and Awal scoring from a lovely Krisna cross, having dribbled on the break from the half way line.
Second half we made all our subs, and soon went 4-1 up. Barry pulled back for Benji to tap in.
We conceded a sloppy goal but soon got back to 5-1, Barry finishing nicely for a Zoeller pass before Zanskar made it 6-1 with another tap in.
We could have scored more, but the important thing was the win.
