DBFC lost their first match of this season to a decent Goodfellas side so a bit of a downer after travelling all the way to Shatin Sports Stadium to play on a large and bobbly grass pitch.

With the more regular centre midfield players missing DBFC had Thierry (46) and Danny (16) partnering in the middle and in the first half Goodfellas had the best of the battle there. 2 good goals by Goodfellas and a couple of good saves by DBFC keeper (Ricky) kept the score to 2 nil down at half time. DBFC were restricted to two or 3 attempts at goal in the first half and one should have been put away at the far post by new DBFC forward Vince but he sliced his left foot shot from 1 yard out from an open goal.

The second half saw a much stronger performance from DBFC and they got a goal back from Kafi after 10 minutes so the push for the equaliser started. Unfortunately Goodfellas were defending deep with commitment and this limited DBFC chance. Out of the 2 or 3 that did offer up the best chance missed was from Brendon who failed to connect his head by 1 mm with a great cross from Darius.

Again many new faces in the DBFC squad for this game including Niklas from Germany making a guest appearance while visiting his mate Sean. Niklas struggled with the heat (a lot different to Germany).

Once again DBFC got off to bad start to the football match by conceding a couple of soft goals and were obviously disappointed not to have taken at least a point from this game, although Goodfellas deserved it by success defending their first half lead.

A good number made the long journey back to the Pier Bar and after the first beer life looked wonderful again and talk turned to putting it right next week against top of table team J-Leagurers.
